Gas strut windows that hold a large sash open, from the St. Petersburg showroom.
- Windows
Door & Co. carries ActivWall gas strut windows at 3430 Fairfield Avenue South in St. Petersburg. The sash lifts and stays open on struts, which suits a living room or a covered porch where a casement would swing into the room and a slider would leave a frame in the view. Salt air and a wide opening are the usual reasons a Tampa Bay homeowner asks about the line. We treat it as a window first: the hardware is the point, and the wall around it still has to shed water. Glass, size, and any impact rating are taken from the documents for that exact unit before we order. This page does not publish a code approval number. The showroom visit is where we check sightline, screen, and whether the open sash clears furniture. Rough opening sizes can wait until measure. Homeowners usually have one hero window in mind. Architects specify ActivWall when the elevation wants a window that operates like a large awning. Builders meet it on replacement walls where the header is already in place. It is the wrong product for a storefront door, and we will say so. Call 727-353-3137 or ask for ActivWall on the quote form.
